Looks like a fragment of old driftwood or a root pulled from a dry riverbed - gnarled, grained, weathered to a warm brown, with hollows worn into it over what could be centuries.

Set a tealight in the hollow and the flame picks out every ridge around it. It comes with 4 tealights, so you can light it the day it arrives.
